AN EXHIBITION ON THE HISTORIC LANDS OF THE AIRMAIL IN TOULOUSE
Entering the 400m2 Aircraft Hangar, visitors meet Antoine de Saint-Exupéry “the aviator” and discover the key moments of his life and the aircraft associated with each of these periods. The exhibition traces the life of the legendary pilot from his winged bicycle as a boy to his tragic death aboard the legendary Lockheed F-5 Lightning over the Mediterranean. The public also discovers Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s deep friendships with his colleagues in the Ligne aéropostale, pilots, mechanics and radios.
In order to allow the public to understand the historical context of the interwar period in Toulouse-Montaudran, with the creation of Lignes Aériennes Latécoère and then Aéropostale and Air France, the three companies on which Saint Exupéry worked, L’Envol des Pionniers offers visitors the opportunity to discover the temporary exhibition within the general framework of the site. Thus, thanks to a single rate, visitors can access all the exhibitions, permanent and temporary.
